Newcastle Bobcat basketball has been in full swing for both boys and girls as district play has begun. So far, the Lady Bobcats are 2-0 in District play, with wins against rival Perrin-Whitt by a score of 42-40 on the road Saturday, Jan. 2, and defeating Graford on the road in a close one by a score of 33-23.

The Lady Bobcats next game will be at Perrin-Whitt once again, but this time in Newcastle, Tuesday, Jan.19, followed by a road game against Woodson on Jan. 22. The Newcastle boys have been trying to find their stride, with losses to Graford, and Gordon, but lost a nail-biter at home against Munday by a score of 43-39.

The Bobcats were able to get an impressive win right before Christmas break against Notre Dame Catholic by a score of 84-26. Newcastle is still looking for there for district win on the season, and will get another crack at it on Friday, Jan. 22 on the road against Woodson before coming home the following Tuesday, Jan. 26 to take on Graford for a second time.
