Mavericks are back and more entertaining than they’ve ever been

Although this time of the year belongs to the NFL and college football, the NBA is in full swing with some very entertaining basketball being played--especially by the Dallas Mavericks.

You can thank Luka Doncic for the Mavericks turn around this season, averaging 30.3 points per game, 10.1 rebounds, and 9.3 assists….the 2018-2019 rookie of the year has taken his game to a level that has not been since by a 20 year old the NBA in possibly….ever. Dallas is currently 4th in the Western conference with a 15-6 record through 21 games, and they do not look to be slowing down. With the No. 1 offense in basketball, the Mavericks have plenty of weapons at their disposal that have fed off of Doncic play—including Kristaps Porzingis, traded to Dallas last season after a feud with the Knicks…Porzingis is finally healthy and averaging 17 points per game. Tim Hardaway Jr. has also been a very consistent shooting guard on both ends of the court, averaging 12 points per game and continuing his stellar defense.

This team is very young and could definitely use a veteran guy to come in and give them 30-35 minutes a night as a good no. 3 option. A player that comes to mind is Danilo Gallinari, a guy who has moved around quite a bit throughout his career but has been a true professional who can come into any team and give them 18-19 points per game. Gallinari is in the final year of his contract, and the Oklahoma City Thunder will be looking to trade him starting on Dec. 15 as the Thunder look to rebuild for the future. It is still early, but this start should make every Mavs fan extremely excited for the future with Doncic and Porzingis leading the way. And you never know, maybe Doncic could add one more surprise—an NBA Most Valuable Player award.
