Local Kids ‘Make a Mess’ At Southside Baptist VBS

Children spent four evenings learning, playing and getting a little messy during Southside Baptist Church’s annual Vacation Bible School, held June 8-11 at the church in Olney.

The theme for this year’s VBS was “What a Mess!” and featured Bible lessons, games, crafts, and snacks each evening from 6 to 8:10 p.m. Organizers encouraged children to embrace the fun with themed dress-up days, including Mismatch Monday, Technicolor Tuesday, Wrinkled Wednesday, and Tie-Dye Thursday.

The church welcomed kindergarten through sixth-grade students for the event, which focused on Bible teaching while providing opportunities for fellowship and hands-on activities. Parents were warned that participants might get messy as they enjoyed the week’s games and crafts.

Southside Baptist Church also offered transportation assistance for families who needed it, helping make the program accessible to more children in the community.

The annual summer event brought together young people for faith-based learning, friendship, and plenty of colorful fun.
