Lady Cubs’ season openers

The Lady Cubs Volleyball team hosted a pre-season scrimmage in Olney against the Lady Tigers of Electra. The Lady Cubs looked great under new Head Volleyball Coach, Otis Chunn. The Lady Cubs fought hard and kept the games close but were edged out by a more experienced Lady Tiger team.

This year the Lady Cubs will look to Jaylee Bowers to lead the team back to the playoffs. Bowers is a veteran with a great deal of experience and is a powerhouse at all positions but shines as the go-to for kills and aces. The Lady Cubs have many returning veteran players who should greatly aid the team as they seek to return to the playoffs this year. This will be an exciting season for the Lady Cubs with Coach Chunn who has over 20 years of experience. That, added to the return of skilled players, should be enough to give any team a run for the money and a playoff berth.

Coach Chun said the Lady Cubs opened 2023 with a hardfought 0-3 loss to a good Wichita Falls Christian team at the Wichita Christian Tourney. The sets were closely contested, but major errors at critical points proved too much
