Lady Cub Fall Sunrise Optimist League take the field for practice

The Lady Cubs fall season with the Sunrise Optimist League (SOL) has begun. These Lady Cubs really show their dedication to doing everything they can to be the best they can at softball. Instead of taking it easy in the weeks before school begins, they join and participate in a fall softball league to help prepare for the upcoming softball season for Olney ISD.

Coach Lupe Garcia and assistant Coach Greg Mahler gave insight into the Lady Cub’s participation in the fall league. “The league is to prepare them more for when softball season starts the rust will be knocked off and they will be ready to go,” said Coach Lupe. The Lady Cubs will be playing at the Sunrise Optimist Friends of Youth Softball fields in Wichita Falls, Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. The fields can be found at 5401 Southwest Pkwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.

The Lady Cubs were looking great during practice and should do well in the fall league. Coach Lupe closed out by saying, “I am glad the girls have a lot of dedication and a lot of heart to be out here when its 95 to 100 degrees when they don’t have to be. They all volunteer to be a part of the league.” Fight on Lady Cubs!!!
