Junior Varsity Cubs conquer the Bowie Jackrabbits

The Junior Varsity Cubs football team played the Bowie Jackrabbits on Thursday, Oct. 25 at Cub Stadium in Olney.

Neither team was able to get the ball into the endzone during the first quarter, but the Cubs dominated in the second quarter. Luis Marquez scored the first touchdown of the game, early in the second quarter. On the Jackrabbits’ next possession, Johnathan Mechor intercepted the ball, Cauy Borrows ran it in for a touchdown, and Jesse Sosa got the twopoint conversion. On the next Cubs possession, Cuay Borrows scored another touchdown and Braden Castro took it in for the two-point conversion, ending the second quarter with the Cubs in the lead, with a score of 22-0.

Jesse Sosa scored the first touchdown in the third quarter and the kick for the extra point was good.The Jackrabbits scored their first touchdown in the third quarter, finishing the quarter with a score of 29-6.

Early in the fourth quarter, Cauy Borrows ran the ball 50 yards for another Cubs touchdown. The Jackrabbits started to mount a comeback by scoring two touchdowns, but they ran out of time. The Cubs won, with a final score of 35-18.
