Olney Cub Bonfire Lights up Olney

Wednesday, Sept. 5 the Olney High school held its annual Homecoming bonfire. The Olney Volunteer Fire Department (OVFD) was on hand to help make sure things did not get out of hand and to help get the festivities started.

The Pride of Olney was on hand to help get that famous Olney Cub spirit going, with the many pieces of music performed including the Olney fight song. The Olney High School Cheer squad kept things going with many high-energy performances including exciting acrobatics, cheerleading pyramids and cheers to get the crowd into a frenzy of Cub spirit.

This year’s Olney High School Hunk was named Jr. Acuna a very popular student-athlete. Acuna and his fellow students seemed very pleased with the decision as the Olney High School Cheer Squad surrounded, picked him up and carried him off.

The bonfire was then lit by the Olney seniors who seemed to delight in starting this year’s bonfire. Followed by more music performed by the Pride of Olney to end the night’s festivities.
