Girls Softball vs Petrolia

Taaron Scrogum of the Olney Lady Cubs fought hard to keep the Lady Pirates of Petrolia at bay during a recent match-up. The Lady Cubs fell to the Lady Pirates 17-0. The Lady Cubs fought hard but seemed to be missing that fighting spirit the team is known for. The skill of the Lady Pirates, who were ranked close to 20 in State, did not help matters for the Lady Cubs. The Lady Pirates pitcher was on fire and striking out Lady Cubs at will. Taaron Scrogum is a veteran Lady Cub with a ton of experience, she plays shortstop and is a team leader who is helping pass on the years of experience to the up-and-coming Lady Cubs moving into Varsity. Keep fighting, Lady Cubs!

Morgan Casteel, right fielder and backup pitcher for the Olney Lady Cubs held down right field for the Lady Cubs at the match-up with the Petrolia Lady Pirates. Her efforts were not enough to hold back the Lady Pirates from the win as most hits went towards left field. The Lady Cubs take on the Archer City Lady Cats on March 31 in Archer City for a District match-up. Fight on, Lady Cubs!
