Future Cubs enjoy free camp

Girls from Olney and surrounding areas in grades two through six enjoyed a free volleyball camp on July 19-21. Kalynn Philipp, who runs the Olney Youth Sports Facebook and Youth Organization, was the inspiration and key planner and was disappointed to have been under the weather during the event and could not attend.

Philipp had two enthusiastic helpers with plenty of experience playing or coaching volleyball step in and run the volleyball camp. Laura Fortner of Cubs Nutrition and Energy previously coached volleyball, and Olney Junior High School special education teacher Chelsey McElroy, who played volleyball in high school gave campers the chance to learn the fundamentals of volleyball, instill teamwork and just have fun.
