Fort Belknap Electric Names Youth Tour Winners

We congratulate our winners and finalists and would like to thank each of the students that entered an essay in our contest.  

Christian Fuksa, a senior at Olney High School and son of Cory & Shala Fuksa, has been selected as winner of an all-expensepaid Government-in-Action Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., sponsored by Fort Belknap Electric Cooperative. Christian was one of five finalists selected for final interviews of the essay contest held on February 19 at the Fort Belknap Electric Cooperative office in Olney.

Kiara Owen, a senior at Olney High School and daughter of Laura Dillard, was selected as alternate in the essay contest.

Cesar Flores, a senior at Olney High School and son of Hugo Flores, was selected as first runner-up.

Other finalists that participated in the youth tour judging were:

Bryanna Nickel, a junior at Newcastle High School and daughter of Tony & Jina Nickel.

Michael Liming, a senior at Olney High School and son of Rene Liming.

Christian will travel to the nations capitol June 12-21, along with approximately 156 other Texas youth and chaperones for a fun-filled and educational tour of many famous monuments, memorials and other places of interest in Washington, D.C. This year marks the 54th anniversary of the Youth Tour, which was the idea of President Lyndon B. Johnson.
