Cubs kick off basketball season with losses

Over the Thanksgiving break, the Olney Cubs Varsity basketball team started their season with two games on the road against the Munday Moguls and Chico Dragons.
On Nov. 20, The Cubs fought hard but fell to the Moguls 47-37. The Cubs had to battle from behind during the game. They were down by seven at the half with a score of 19-12.
On the following day, The Cubs again fought hard but lost 46-41 to the Chico Dragons. This game was closer with the Cubs leading at the half by one point: 15-14.
The top scorer for the second game was Jacob Hernandez with 16 points. Jose Castillo scored eight points, Dominic Bedford contributed six points, Brady Lisle chipped in three points, and Christopher Hernandez added two points.
