Cubs fall to Stamford Bulldogs

It’s been a year of bitter disappointment for the Cubs Varsity Football team as they try to acclimate to the new offense and defensive systems.

It will most likely be another year, maybe two, before Cub fans can expect to see success from the Cubs football program, but it’s not all bad news because the new spread offense is an updated program that the Cubs needed to switch to years ago.

The spread will allow a more open offense that will see success in the passing game and harder to predict for defense.

The same goes for the new 4-3 defense which will allow the Cubs better coverage for the teams they face with a heavy passing offense as well as open up a better blitzing option for the Cub defense.

Hang in there, Cub fans because the systems being taught over the next couple of years are sowing the seeds for the future success of the Cub football program.

During the recent Cub Senior Night game against the Stanford Bulldogs, the Cubs fell during a heavy loss and moved on to the last game of the season against the Cisco Loboes in Cisco on Friday November 8, at 7:00 pm.

Be sure to pick up a copy of the Enterprise next week for the Senior Spotlight from the Cub game as they walk the field with parents.
