Cubs fall to Haskell Indians

On March 7, the Olney Cubs baseball team hosted the Haskell Indians at Cub Field. The Cubs fought hard and gained the lead 4-0, but through errors and other issues during gameplay, they quickly fell behind and could not recover, losing to the Indians 7-15.

Head Cub Baseball Coach Chase Duncan gave insight into how the season has started.

“We are currently 2-3 on the season after dropping our game last night against Haskell 7-15. Sophomore Jordan Jacoba currently leads the team with a 0.60 batting average, three doubles and five RBIs. Sophomore Cyler Sosa is batting 0.41 with seven runs scored. On the mound, Junior Luke Buffington is leading the way for the Cubs with 6.2 innings pitched, a 0.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts. Behind him is Sophomore Brady Lisle with 5.0 innings pitched, a 1.400 ERA and six strikeouts,” Duncan said. The next home game will be March 29,
