Cubs Battle the Pirates

Tuesday, March 19, the Olney Cubs took on the Petrolia Pirates varsity baseball team. Pictured is Gabe Garza No. 7 of the Olney Cubs varsity baseball team catching a pop fly to secure an out against the Pirates. With a final score of 6 for Olney and 18 for Petrolia, the Cubs came up short. The Cubs fought back toward the end of the game with three runs in the fifth but could not pull off a comeback. Game Highlights: Hayden Carter No. 20 had two hits and two runs, Gabe Garza No. 7 had two runs, Oscar Flores No. 11 had a run and Andrew Tellez No. 14 had one run. Game Play of the Night: Cubs No. 7 Gabe Garza, triple on a line drive to center field leading Cubs No. 20 Haden Carter and Cubs No. 11 Oscar Flores to each run in for a score each. Fight on Cubs!
