Olney High School: Fatima Marquez

Fatima Marquez is a senior at Olney ISD. She plans to attend Midwestern State University and major in computer science.

Marquez has been involved in the Olney marching band, robotics, UIL, one-act play, softball, and student council. She is currently playing softball and involved with upcoming UIL events.

When discussing some of her highlights from her high school career, she states that “getting 9th place at the state robotics tournament my sophomore year, and advancing to state three years in a row,” come to mind. One of her favorite high school moments was when she made it to state for marching band when she was a freshman.

“I am proud to be graduating as a first-generation student. I am also proud of the awards I have received in all the activities I have been involved in,” Marquez said when discussing what honors she is most proud of. The advice she would give to younger students is to “always work hard” to be successful. Fatima has excelled both academically and her extracurricular activities and events in all four years of her high school career and will be graduating from Olney ISD in May.
