City pool tentative

City pool tentative opening date, June 3

The City has hired Casey Keeter to manage the municipal swimming pool this year and is still looking to bring on more lifeguards, Interim City Administrator Arpegea Pagsuberon said. Keeter “is working hard to get the new lifeguards certified, and our Public Works Department is prepping to open the pool in time,” she said on a Facebook post. If all goes well, the City will open the pool June 3, at 1 p.m.

If fully staffed, the swimming pool’s hours will be Tuesday through Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and look forward to another amazing summer swim season,” Pagsuberon said, also noting that the City is looking for two pool managers and a few lifeguards before the season starts. The pay is $15 per hour for managers and $10 per hour for lifeguards. Managers must be at least 18 years old with some management skills, as they will be managing schedules and the lifeguards and managing cash. Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old, and can expect to work an av-erage of 15-20 hours per week. The city will provide lifeguard certification. Anyone interested in the pool manager positions should contact Arpegea Pagsuberon at City Hall at 940-276- 2011 or email your resume to olneygov@cityofolneytx.com.
