Bobcats lose a tough one to May Tigers

The Newcastle Bobcats took on May this past Friday in a game that was played in a way that the Bobcats have not been accustomed to all year long.

Newcastle could not get anything going on offense in the first half. Starting the game off with a few interceptions and just not being able to move the ball down the field. After halftime, an entirely different Bobcat team came to play, outscoring May in the second half by 14 while scoring 22 points on offense while only allowing 8 points on the defensive side of the ball. In the end, the first half struggles were too much for the Bobcats to overcome in this one. The final score was 34-22 May.

Although, the strength of this team is their ability to move forward. Whether that be after a rough possession, quarter, half, game…they put everything behind them only focused on what lies ahead. And that is indicative of this season, they have had some unfortunate things occur, but that hasn’t stopped them from forgetting the last game and starting the next one with a fresh slate.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday night in Perrin at 7:30 p.m. Don’t forget about other Newcastle athletics as well—with Newcastle volleyball now in the heart of district play. The Newcastle Junior High football team will be in action this Thursday night Oct. 10 with Perrin at 5:30 p.m. in Newcastle. They will also be in action that following week on Friday, Oct. 18 in Newcastle in a match-up with Savoy. The Newcastle Bobcat cross country teams will have their district meet Wednesday, Oct. 16 in Perrin at 3:30 p.m. Come out and support!
