Convicted

Nothing gives me more confidence than when I am convicted by God to do something. When God convicts my heart, I lose all fear and gain what I can only describe as supernatural confidence knowing that what I am doing is part of God’s plan.

It wasn’t always this way for me; I used to lack confidence in most things, not knowing if what I was doing was the right thing or plan to follow. At the time I wasn’t following or even listening to God’s plan or direction for my life.

Following God’s plan for my life took faith, and over time I gave up my life to God and trusted him completely. Ever since that day, I have had a really strong faith in God which makes my life almost worry-free. It’s incredible to live life knowing there is a plan in place created by God.

It took me a while to understand that God speaks to me in a few different ways. One way he speaks to me is through my conscience. That’s that feeling you get when deep down you know something is wrong and, for me, the longer I ignore it the louder it gets. Sometimes God has to shout at me [ha-ha] - I can be stubborn sometimes. Sometimes God speaks to me through my heart and feelings, saying empathize, help or maybe understand when someone is going through something and needs help. Although that may not affect my conscience in that situation, it affects my heart or feelings. I believe that God even speaks to me through my physical body, sometimes telling me to slow down or dig in with grit. Think about situations you have been through. Has God spoken to you in these ways? Do you listen?

Hebrews 13:16: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”

Luke 6:30: “Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.”

John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Sometimes my column is a little murky on my meaning. I hope that anyone reading can gain a little meaning out of my thoughts and writing.

This is Will B saying, let your heart and conscience be your guide!
