Will B.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. This is a hard one for most and me included in some situations. Being thankful in all circumstances is part of it. I pray two or three times a day minimum.

I used to have issues dealing with being grateful when it seemed all around me things were falling apart. I have had a rough couple of years emotionally, physically and at times mentally. I pray and trust in God’s plan for me. I believe I should always follow the Bibles teachings and being grateful when things don’t look so good is included, sometimes after going through a trial I can look back and see what God’s plan was for me during those times and just think wow I should be grateful, maybe it was something that made me stronger for something else even harder I am to endure, maybe it was to show someone around me that they to can make it through the same situation, it could be I won’t even know what God’s purpose was, I just trust in his perfect plan for me.

Knowing this I am grateful because I know even when I am going through tribulations God is right there with me, sometimes caring me through without me even knowing it. Things can always be worse too, so I am grateful in that regard as well.

Some things though are incredibly easy to see that I should be grateful for, most of the time it is the little things we take for granted, clean water, a roof over my head, a car, food and even a steady job. For me the job I have is a true blessing because not only do I get to do something I love but they always have my back and this past two years has really put that to the test.

Someday I hope to share my testimony, because the things I went through when I was younger make it really easy to see things to be grateful for. I almost feel sorry for people who have had plenty growing up, they may find it harder to see that the simple things in life are what we should be most grateful for. Each one of us, rich, poor, sick or healthy have our own trials and must face them, they are just different for everyone. Put your faith in God’s plan for you and know he will always have your back. This is Will B saying, be grateful for the little things in life.
