Rest for The Soul

The life of a Christian is fundamentally rooted in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, being truly divine, entered humanity to appease the righteous anger of God towards all people. God is righteous, holy, and just, and no one can stand before Him without perfection. Consequently, every human being, born of the seed of man, will be judged according to the righteousness of God’s law, which demands perfection. This is why Paul declared, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew and then to the Greek. In it, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” Humanity is tainted by sin and filled with corruption. Our hearts are deceitfully wicked and desperately sick, overflowing with “all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice.” “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become worthless; There is none who does good, no, not one.” “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; And the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

I implore you to examine your heart and see the hidden sins you wish to keep concealed. As an image bearer of God, your conscience reflects the moral law, guiding you to recognize how sin operates within you. Just as a patient must endure the surgeon’s scalpel before healing can begin, so too does the word of God penetrate deeply when influenced by the Holy Spirit. For “The word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, judging the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” For sin is crouching at your door, its desire is to have you, yet you must master it. Remember, nothing is concealed from God’s eyes; your life is fully exposed before Him. He observes every sinful thought that arises in your mind. Even a solitary sin imagined carries the weight of eternal condemnation and will damn you in an eternity in hell, “where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

The Scripture teaches us that “Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Please understand, “it is appointed for men to die once, and after this comes judgment.” The Scriptures also warn us of a day when Jesus will be “revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction.” Reader, “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Apart from the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ upon the cross for the forgiveness of sins, there remains only a fearful expectation of divine judgment and the fury of a fire that will consume the Lord’s adversaries.

Therefore, come and rest in the finished work of the Son of God and believe with a living faith that your sins were placed upon Him; that He bore them in His body on the cross; that He has cleansed you with His precious blood, clothed you in His righteousness, and is sanctifying you by His Spirit, and bestowing upon you grace. This is the only peace for your conscience. Place your entire hope in Him, diligently pursuing a life aligned with His word while embracing repentance. No one who has truly come to Jesus has regretted their decision; instead, they have experienced life in its fullest measure.

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17 NKJV
