My Nickel’s Worth

My Nickel’s Worth

Have you ever had something happen to you that you did not understand in the moment, but it turned out to be in God’s plan and timing for your life? Lately, I have had time to reflect on the plans that God has for me and has planned out for me.

I began college as a pre-pharmacy major ready to take on the world. Little did I know that God had a completely different path for my life. I changed my major to mass communication my junior year but in the moment, I had no idea what God had planned. I had always said back then that if I ever changed my major from pharmacy that I would go to Oklahoma State. I ended up staying at Southwestern Oklahoma State because I felt the Lord calling me to do so, but I wasn’t sure why.

I met my best friends at Southwestern, as well as my fiancée, Whitnie. Looking back, everything worked out the way God wanted it to, and I am better for it. Through every decision that I had made, it led me to where I am today, the Olney Enterprise.

I am blessed beyond words to be able to work in a place that is filled with God’s presence. It’s crazy to look back to my life just three or four years ago, to reflect back on everything that God had set out for me. This shows me to always be patient and keep the faith, even when we can’t initially see God’s ultimate plans. Trust in the Lord’s plans rather than your own desires, and you will be rewarded.
