A Letter to the Editor:

Editor:

I recently read your coverage/article on the Boy Scout Monument Dedication in October and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I was fortunate to be able to attend the dedication and enjoyed visiting with old friends. I wanted everyone involved to know how much I did enjoy being at the monument dedication, and how much I truly appreciated all the efforts to make it happen. We all can look back and realize now what a great time we had growing up in Olney and with our scouting program.

I do believe that Freddie and Dad (Red) would be very proud of the monument, but more proud of the boys who grew up to become good men in their families and their communities. While we have all kinds of problems in the world right now, so many of them could be resolved if we all could practice those 12 points of the Scout Law. Twelve words that continue to help us in our individual lives still today. Once again, my true, sincere thanks for everyone’s efforts and the great result!

Once again, my true, sincere thanks for everyone’s efforts and the great result!
