Letter to the Editor :

I was surprised that the article about Meals on Wheels didn’t include the fact that for many of those who receive the benefit of regular balanced meals also enjoy contact with the volunteers who deliver the meals.

Family matters, but it’s also important to the well-being of those receiving the daily meal to have someone who’s not necessarily family with whom to interact daily.

My mother was a recipient when she moved here in 2017. When her regular delivery person didn’t deliver, she’d ask the substitute about him as well as make contact with another human being, broadening her world.
