To the Editor:
I just read the report of a cut in funding for Meals on Wheels in the Olney area.
As an observer, now from afar, it is my feeling that this is just the tip of the iceberg in the Trump/Musk area where Billionaires decide that, in the name of “cutting government waste, “they will not spend any money to feed, clothe, or shelter any person in need.”
Since most people in Texas are fundamentalist Christians in name, I recommend that they all read the 25th chapter of the book of Matthew in the Bible, beginning with the 31st verse and, after reading that passage, they insist that their elected officials follow that as a legislative policy in all their dealings.
This is the essence of Christianity.
