Just like a lot of families who foster here in Olney, we found we needed help.  Now there is help available.  In February, with help from The Refuge, my wife and I started a donation based clothes closet to support families in our area who foster or adopt.

Matthew 25:40

“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did to the least of these my brethren you did to me.’ “

It came as a surprise to me when I moved my family here, how many people in this small community are involved with foster and adoption programs.  Those of us who have fostered or adopted or have been involved in the process know that when you get a placement it is always unique.  I have found as soon as we get a placement in  my family, my wife and I start immediately assessing our ability to take care of the child or children.  We start by making a list of what it will take to get through the night and day, then the week, then the month, ect… The list of needs grows quickly, which was the case with our first placement in Olney.  We received two children into our home around 9pm and they had no pajamas to sleep in and hardly a change of clothes.  Just like a lot of families who foster here in Olney, we found we needed help.  Now there is help available.  In February, with help from The Refuge, my wife and I started a donation based clothes closet to support families in our area who foster or adopt. The response from this giving community, caring organizations like A World For Children out of Wichita Falls, and faithful local churches has been amazing. We now have enough clothes that we are not taking anymore at this time, and only need a few more miscellaneous items.  If you foster, adopt, or respite please let us help. More importantly, thank you for what you are doing for these children.  Also, thank all of you who have donated time and supplies for being a shining example of how we are supposed to love and care for each others needs.  If you have a need, a donation, or questions on how you can serve or get involved in foster/adoption please contact us anytime day or night!
