Commissioner’s Court, May 25
Young County Commissioner’s Court held their first meeting of the month on Monday, June 8. The meeting lasted about an hour, beginning with the invocation, and considering the minutes from the previous meeting on May 25.
Updates were given on the Treasures Financial Report and Securities Pledged. Next up on the agenda was to considered the Auditors Budget Amendments and payable vouchers before discussing employee bonds for Jay Faulk, William Glenn Ash, and Deputy Tax Collector Kay McClatchey. Extension Agent requests for reimbursement were considered by the court for Penny Berend and Savanna Williams.
The Sheriff then discussed the May Activity Reports for Jail—the Sheriff says that the month of May was a normal month for arrests, with Covid-19 not having too much of an impact on how many people are in the county jail, as well as how many arrests were made for the month.
The court considered road crossing permits from Brazos Telephone Sam Hawkins Road, Ligon Ramp, Boat Ramp Road, Hawkins Chapel Road, and Harmon Road. The court then discussed the 2020 Budget Planning Calendar year for 2021, followed by burning restrictions before adjourning the meeting. The next Young County Commissioner’s Court meeting will be held Monday June 22.
