Commissioner’s Court

Commissioners Court of Young County held a meeting on Monday, Apr. 12. The meeting began with public comments, announcements and presentations. Judge Bullock gave a COVID-19 update for Young county, stating that 44 have passed away in the county from COVID-19 complications, as well as over 2,700 people making a full recovery from the virus. There are currently only 5 active cases in Young County—which is extremely low after certain throughout the past year of having 300 active cases. Judge Bullock also noted that thou sands of individuals have received the COVID-19 vaccine in the county thus far.

Individuals involved in 4-H made public comments to the court, as Judge Bullock signed a proclamation acknowledging this week as 4-H volunteer week in Young County. Individuals involved in 4-H including young students, and adults, took a photo with the commissioner’s court. The court then considered the treasures financial report and updates on securities pledged. Next on the agenda was the auditors budget amendments and vouchers payable—with the court accepting a donation to Fort Belknap for “historical education and preservation made by Phil and Kathy Jordan.”

The court discussed an employee bond for Chelsea Moore ( Chief Clerk and Justice of the Peace for Precinct #1), and considered the extension agents request for reimbursement for Penny Berend and Savanna Williams. The meeting lasted close to three hours before adjourning—with many discussions focused on ratifications to certain local agreements.
