Commissioner’s Court

Commissioner’s Court of Young County held their first meeting in the month March 9. The meeting began by opening it up with potential pubic comments, announcements, and presentations.

YC Masonic Lodge will hold its 13th Annual Auction this upcoming Saturday, March. 14. The court then received and discussed the primary election report with Lauren Sullivan, Election Administrator.

Next on the agenda was the treasurer’s financial report and updates on securities pledged. The auditors budget amendments and vouchers payable were then considered as well. Discussing “County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas Annual Dues-1,500 and Commercial & Industrial Electronics Inc. -Fire Alarm Inspection & Maintenance Proposal” according the agenda and approving both unanimously. An Employee Bond was discussed for Joann B. Dickey, who is the Chief Clerk and Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1—approving this 5-0 by the court. The court gave extension agents requests from reimbursement for Penny Berend and Savanna Williams before moving on to the February Activity Reports for Jail/ Sheriff ’s Office. The court then approved the policy for donating and accepting of such, then considering trade if a “140M3 for a 150 CAT Motor Grader, put forth by Stacey Rogers. The court discussed burn restrictions before adjourning. The next meeting will be held on March. 23.
