I have written about my disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.), before to help bring awareness to the little-known autoimmune disease. I feel it is time for a follow-up. I don’t write this article and make posts on Facebook for a pity party. My goal is to bring awareness to whichever disease or illness I am patiently trying to support.
Loneliness has become one of the most widespread problems facing our society. Problems such as substance use, domestic violence, drunk driving, heart disease all get more publicity than simply being lonely. The issue is that loneliness is unseen and unheard. A person can go to work, attend church, shop for groceries, or interact with hundreds of people online and still feel profoundly alone. The problem is not simply being by oneself. Loneliness is the painful feeling from missing meaningful connections in one’s life.
Fishing is one of the very few good memories I have with my dad. He seemed to be a different person when we went on camping trips. Gone was the disinterested parent; the abuse, both physical and mental, in its place was a man who showed interest and passion for something. Maybe it was the only time he was happy; I guess I will never know. His passing years ago left me always wondering why he was the way he was.
Residents across the state have made their stances on data centers clear, as at least 10 different Texas counties have taken on the westward- bound influence of the corporate giants that are responsible for establishing Asset-Backed data centers. However, the conflicts are unfolding differently in each county.
