
Olney FFA team qualifies for state contest
Olney National FFA Organization cultivated a winning strategy at the Area IV Career Development Events in Stephenville. As a result, they will be sending its Farm Business Management team to the state competition later this month.
The 65-member Olney FFA chapter competed alongside 98 other Area IV schools at the contest at Tarleton State University. The state competition will be held in Huntsville April 29 at Sam Houston State University.
The Olney Farm Business Management team of Angel Alvarado, Ellie Hinson, Gatlin Guy and Chloe Neal placed first in the District contest and fourth in the Area IV competition.
Alvarado and Hinson tied for No. 1 in individual participation in District and No. 9 in individual participation in Area IV. Guy placed No. 3 in individual participation in District and No. 14 in Area IV.
Neal came in fifth in District.
The Dairy Cattle team of Natalie Del Villar, Eva Ekberg and Josie Gentry placed eighth in District.
The Entomology team of Kami Bednarz, Sarah Stroud and Maggie Olvera placed third in District and sixth in Area IV.
The Floriculture team of Cindy Delgado, Nataley Kelly, and Tyana Kinney placed second in District and 10th in Area IV.
The Land team of Haydon Carter, Axel Flores, Jose Olvera, and Jordan Jacoba placed second in District and eighth in Area IV.
The Milk Quality team of Aubrey Mahler and Taaron Scrogum won second in District.
The Veterinary Science team of
Sydnee Dixon, Maddie Clayton, Perla Gaspar, and Peyton Valdez won fourth place in District. Individual participation results
