Melba Adams

Obituary: Melba Adams

Melba Adams, age 94, was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

Born on January 14, 1928, in Newport, Texas to the late Brady Clifton and Ilene (Bowman) Clifton, Melba was a kind-hearted woman and a loving mother who was blessed by a family that cherished her. She resided in Olney for most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church. She married L.Z. Adams, Jr. on April 19, 1976. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her brother, L.G. Clifton and her step-son, Mack Adams.

Melba’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. They all loved her country cooking and thought she made the best fried chicken. She modeled a life well lived and a piece of her heart will always be with those whose lives she touched.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Melba is survived by one son, Ronnie Griffith of Olney; two daughters, Linda Wade and husband Jim of Olney and Donna McMain of Seguin; her step-daughter, Kim Newsom of Elbert; one brother, Jimmy Clifton of Ft. Morgan, Colorado; eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney and condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lunnfuneralhome.com.
