Wayne McKinney

Olney ~ Wayne McKinney, 88, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017, in Waco, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Southside Baptist Church in Olney with Andy Graham, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Wayne was born on February 6, 1929, in Cross Plains, Texas, to the late Riley Randolph McKinney and Martha Jane (Casper) McKinney. He was the youngest of twelve children. He graduated from Pettus High School in Pettus, Texas. He served in the National Guard. Wayne married Corine Elizabeth Pitts on January 1, 1951, in Megargel, Texas. He had a lifelong career working in the oilfield, retiring as a pumper in 1994. After retirement, he found a new venture in life and started doing mission work for the Southern Baptist Convention. He moved to Terrell, Texas in 2008 from Claremore, Oklahoma, and in 2009, moved to Waco, Texas.  Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Corine on July 4, 2012, and by eleven siblings.

Wayne is survived by his three children: Mike McKinney and wife Martha of Graham, Texas, Connie Miles and husband Gary of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Jody Edds and husband Gary of Waco, Texas; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 11, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Lunn Funeral Home.
