Theresa McClatchy
Theresa McClatchy, age 76, died Monday, July 22, 2024 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, in Plano, Texas. Memorial services will be held August 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Olney with Dr Chad Edgington, pastor, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Theresa was born April 8, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to the late Billy Gene Pritchett and Peggy (Turner) Pritchett Wilmeth. She was a graduate of South Garland High School, then furthered her education, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas and a Master’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin. Theresa married Jeffery Evans McClatchy on November 17, 1979 and moved to Olney that same year. She was a science teacher for over 40 years and loved learning, history, teaching, traveling, especially to the beach, crafting, and spending time with all of her family. One of her favorite pastimes over the years was cheering on her boys and her grandchildren at their tournaments, games, and performances, and she most recently enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, after relocating to be closer to them.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff McClatchy, her parents, Bill and Betty Prtichett, and LB and Peggy Wilmeth, her parents-in-law, Don and Neva McClatchy, and her sister-in-law, Barbara McClatchy.
Theresa is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mace and Celeste McClatchy of Dallas, and Cole and Blair McClatchy of Trophy Club, her grandchildren, Stella Marie McClatchy and Evelyn Rose McClatchy, both of Dallas, and Jeffery Wells McClatchy and Sutton Joy McClatchy, both of Trophy Club, her siblings, Wesley and Winnie Pritchett of Key Biscayne, FL, Tammy Bright of Cleburne, Tammy Chambers of Athens, Sherrie Bowers of Athens, and Scott and Tracy Pritchett of Mabank, her siblings-in-law, Scott and Kobye McClatchy of Grapevine, Kent and Syndal McClatchy of Olney, and nieces and nephews, Romney, Jeremy, Wesley, Nicole, and Winnie, Kaci and Chase, Michelle and Meredith, Heather, Tiffany, Lacy and Jerry, Kevin, Stephanie and Daniel, Candace, Nicole, Joseph and Stefan, Savanna, Chelsea, Mackenzie and Skyler, along with numerous great nieces and great nephews.
