Ruben Burton Maxwell, Jr.

Ruben Burton Maxwell, Jr. 80, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 in Newcastle. Graveside service will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

R.B. was born June 7, 1940 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to the late Dorothy Maxine (Shipman) Maxwell and Ruben Burton Maxwell, Sr. He married Doris Dixie Allen on February 20, 1960 in Odessa and she preceded him in death September 17, 2020. R.B. spent his lifetime in the oilfield. He was the owner /operator of Maxwell Well Service for many years. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids. R.B. was a great and Godly man and will forever be missed all.

R.B. is survived by sons, Rick Maxwell and wife Gina of Newcastle, and Michael Maxwell and wife Sonya of Newcastle; daughter, Tammy Mays and husband Jerry of Newcastle; ten grandkids; twenty three great grandkids; sisters, Betty Jackson of Abilene, Nancy Hudson and husband, Tommy of Abilene and Teresa Groit and husband, Scott of Sartell, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Gene Maxwell, sister, Brenda Martin and brother, Charles Maxwell.

Family visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.
