Peggy Marie Scott

Peggy Marie Scott, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.

Peggy was born on October 17, 1931, in Jean, Texas to the late Denny Bailey and Vera (Crabb) Bailey. She graduated from Graham High School and worked for 2 years at Perkins and Timberlake in Olney. She then began her long career at Olney ISD as secretary to Superintendent Charles Mitchell and retired after thirty years. She married Jack Scott on April 17, 1949 in Jean, Texas. They moved from Olney to the beautiful mountains of Ruidoso, New Mexico, but moved back to Olney in 2010. Peggy was a member of the Garden Club and her passions were yard work and dancing. She especially loved swing music.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Scott; her son, Rick Scott; two sisters, Dorothy Nicholson and Ramona Thomas; and her brother, Tony Bailey.

Peggy is survived by one granddaughter and her husband, Rikki and Skyler Hilbers of Archer City; one grandson, Dylan Scott of Wichita Falls; six great-grandchildren: Wes, Mason, Hayden, Caitlyn, Parker and Berkli, and numerous nieces and nephews.
