Obituary: Frank E. Butler, Jr.

Olney-Frank E. Butler, Jr., age 89, passed away June 13, 2020 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Father Eugene Nyong of St. Theresa Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Windthorst, Texas under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.

Frank was born November 3, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to the late Frank E. and Sophie (Gremminger) Butler, Sr. He married Mildred Rodden on June 10, 1952 in Breckenridge, Texas. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2016. Frank, Jr. looked forward to working in the oilfield and was a hard worker. He liked fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He always liked driving and drove many miles to watch his grandchildren in their sporting events. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He owned and operated Butler Well Service for 41 years. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Chris McElroy, and one sister, Colleen Lynch.

Survivors include: One son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Debbie Butler of Graham, Texas; One daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike McElroy of Olney, Texas; One sister, Peggy Wilkins of Fort Worth, Texas; Five grandchildren, Quad Butler of London, England, Dusty McElroy of Olney, Texas, William Butler of Graham, Texas, Benjamin Butler of Greenville, Texas, and Katie Rowe of Archer City, Texas; and Six great grandchildren.

Rosary will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home.
