Obituary:

Alan Wayne Bewley, 65, of Megargel, Texas, formerly of Pottsville, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Saturday, December 24, 2022, in Vaughn, New Mexico. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Pottsville First Baptist Church, 5390 West Ash Street, Pottsville, Arkansas, with Pastor Jim Huffman officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation with the family is Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, in Humphrey Funeral Chapel.

Alan’s survivors include his wife, Debbie; three daughters: Jessica Darter (James) of Pottsville; Amanda Burlison (Adam) of Vilonia, AR; and Allison Martinez of Bryan, TX; three sons: Gary Bewley (Janae) of Pottsville; Zachary Schertz of Megargel, TX; and Matthew Schertz (Maelene) of Bryan, TX; three sisters: Louise King (Jerry), Eilene Coker & Mary Hamilton (Truman); 11

grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many other relatives.

The family would encourage memorial donations be made in Alan’s name to the building fund of Pottsville, First Baptist Church, for the completion of the new sanctuary complex Alan was so excited about and dedicated to.
