Lowell Wright, age 91, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church in Olney with Andy Graham, pastor, officiating, assisted by Lowell’s son, John Wright. Burial will follow at Elbert Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home. Lowell was born on May 2, 1927, in Elbert, Texas, to the late J. Luther Wright and Mildred (Jones) Wright. He was a graduate of Howard Payne College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of several Southern Baptist churches throughout his ministry. Lowell had a true love of missions and served as an Area Missionary and retired from the North American Mission Board. Lowell was an active member of Southside Baptist Church and had a true passion for winning souls for Christ up until the day of his passing. He married Bobby Reid Lowhorn on June 28, 2015 in Olney, Texas. Lowell is survived by his wife, Bobby Wright of Olney; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Madeline Wright of Moshi, Tanzania, Africa; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Charlotte and Richard Segars of Graham, Texas and Becky and John Priddy of Priddy, Texas; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Bobby’s children, Bill Lowhorn and wife Nancy of Long Island, New York and Belinda Branigan of Petrolia, Texas. Lowell was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Dupriest Wright, his sister, Arminta Miller, and a granddaughter, Jensey Priddy.
