Joe Pat Rickett

Joe Pat Rickett, died Monday, August 29, 2016 at his residence in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Michael Waits, pastor of First Baptist Church in Crandall,Texas and cousin of deceased, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Joe Pat was born on July 2, 1942 in Olney. He received his Ph.d in Theoretical Nuclear Physics. He married Judy Hodges on November 18, 1966 in Waco, Texas. Joe Pat was a member of the Baylor University Alumni Association and the Society of Exploration Geophysicist. He was also a member of the Olney Assembly of God Church. Joe Pat played Golf at Baylor University and remained an avid golfer for many years.

Joe Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward Rickett and Dorothy Ann (Waits) Rue, One Step-Sister, Jo Ann Lewis, By One Aunt, Jackie Lawrence, Two Uncles, R.A. Waits, and Shirley Waits, By his Grandmother, Etta Waits, and by a cousin, Beverly Crawford.

Survivors include his Wife, Judy Rickett of Olney, One Son, Kyle Rickett of West Caln, Pennsylvania, One Brother and Sister-In-Law, Lonnie D. and Obelea Rue of Olney, One Step-Sister, June Marion of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, and Three Grandchildren, Haley Rickett, Rebekah Rickett, and Joey Rickett.

Family Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 6 pm to 7 pm at Lunn Funeral Home.
