Jack Scott

Olney ~ Jack Scott, 88, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Olney. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jack was born on March 11, 1929, in Megargel, Texas, to the late Newt and Georgia Elizabeth (Herriage) Scott. He graduated from Olney High School and was a lifetime resident of Young County. He married Peggy Bailey on April 17, 1949 in Jean, Texas. Jack was a member of Southside Cowboy Church in Olney, a member of the Olney Lions Club and the Ruidoso Lions Club. He had served on the Olney Cemetery Board, the Olney Youth Board and the Young County Tax Appraisal Board. Jack truly enjoyed talking to people and being around his family and friends, and he loved to dance and listen to music. Jack loved hunting deer and large game, and enjoyed collecting guns. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Scott; and his son, Rick Scott in 2007.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Scott of Olney; one granddaughter and her husband, Rikki Lynn and Skyler Hilbers of Archer City; one grandson, Dylan Scott of Wichita Falls; and six great-grandchildren: Wes, Mason, Hayden, Caitlyn, Parker and Berkli.
