Freddy Horany, age 97 died February 12, 2016 in Olney. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Harrell Braddock Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Freddy was born February 7, 1919 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Shukri Horany and Nabeeha (Hourani) Horany. After high school graduation, he served four years in the United States Air Force during World War II. He married Lucille Shamas on January 2, 1944 in Archer City, Texas. They moved to Olney in 1947. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2014. Freddy owned and operated Horany’s Department Store for fifty-one years. He was a member of the Olney Lions Club, Masonic Lodge #790 for over fifty years and was a member of the Maskat Shriners in Wichita Falls. Freddy loved and supported Olney activities. He was a member of the Quarterback Club and was an avid follower of the Olney Cubs football and basketball teams attending as many games as possible. He was awarded the “You Make My Day” award in 1995 by the Olney Chamber of Commerce as an example of Olney optimism and friendship. In 2000, he was awarded the Pioneer Award by the Olney Chamber of Commerce.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lucille Horany; brothers, Mitchell Horany, Melvin Horany, Jimmy Horany, Johnny Horany; sisters, Lambert Hourani, Neda Horany, Lorice Fleming.

Freddy is survived by two sons: Freddy K. Horany of Burleson, Texas, Mark Horany and wife Connie of Olney, Texas; two daughters: Patricia Cooper and husband Jerry of Burleson, Texas, Nancy Hildebrandt of Roswell, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren: Stacy Lundy and husband Scott of Spring, Texas, Stephanie Collins and husband Bobby of Austin, Texas, Cory Cooper and wife Krystal of Grandview, Texas, Jason Horany and wife Natalie of Argyle, Texas, Chad Horany of Fort Worth, Texas, Heather Mooty and husband Clark of Lubbock, Texas, Traci Bayer and husband Adam of Vernon, Texas, Lindsey Pilarczyk and husband Chris of Wichita Falls, Texas, Megan Cazer and husband Jeff of Denver, Colorado, Jessica Hildebrandt and Zachary Hildebrandt, both of Denver, Colorado; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Virginia Horany of Wichita Falls, Texas; long time caretaker and friend Mary Ann Weidner; and many nieces and nephews.

Family visitation is Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 6:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home.
