Dr. James Edward Taylor, age 78 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on December 2, 2020 following a period of declining health. He was born on October 10, 1942 in Michigan City, IN to Edward Taylor and Lura (Costello) Taylor, both of whom preceded him in death.

Dr. Taylor is survived by his wife of of nearly 37 years,-Patricia (Koester) Taylor, a proud Texas native with whom he shared many adventures. He is also survived by his loving sons: Timothy Taylor of Seattle, WA, Steven Taylor of Cincinnati, OH, and Jason Taylor of Indianapolis, IN; and his grandchildren: Lucas Taylor of Seattle, WA, Eric Taylor of Fayetteville, NC, Kenyon Taylor of Cincinnati, OH, Rukiya Taylor of Cincinnati, OH, Kalina Taylor of Cincinnati, OH, Grady Taylor of Indianapolis, IN, and Vaughn Taylor of Indianapolis, IN.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Taylor and Patricia Annie Taylor Rogers.

Dr. Taylor was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having proudly served his country in the United States Army. His life’s work as a Medical Doctor, with a guiding devotion to his patients, spanned more than 50 years. During that time he was also a member of the American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association and the Porter County Medical Society.

Private family services will be held at the funeral home.
