Dorothy Jene Swanzy was born to Clarence Ray and V.D. Tucker on January 26, 1934 in Olney, Texas. Dorothy went to heaven on October 4, 2017 in Newman, California. Due to illnesses at that time in her immediate family, her celebration of life was delayed until now. There will be a graveside memorial service for Dorothy on October 13, 2018 directly following the interment of her brother-in-law, Carl Anderson, in Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas at 1:30 p.m. Senior Pastor Robert Sanders of Alive Church in Vinita, Oklahoma will be officiating both services. Dorothy went to Olney High School. She was always interested in helping others. She worked in the operating room in Hamilton Hospital in Olney and later became Dr. E.F. Meredith’s nurse for several years at the Lovett-Meredith Medical Clinic. She married Otis (Bozo) Swanzy in February 1954. In 1970, the family moved to Gustine, California. She and her husband moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1977. After the death of her husband and daughter, Dorothy returned to California in 2011 to live with her only son, Rick Swanzy. Dorothy was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Olney, Texas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Otis (Bozo) Swanzy; her daughter, Rebecca Swanzy; and her brother, Donald (Bud) Tucker. She is survived by her son, Rick Swanzy of Newman, California; two sisters, Mozelle Sullivan of Wichita Falls, Texas and Peggy Anderson of Athens, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She is missed by her love ones and friends.
