Bobby Bailey

Bobby Bailey, age 86, died June 23, 2020 at his home in Newcastle, Texas. Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church of Newcastle with Rev. Andy Tyler, officiating, assisted by Rev. Michael Cyr. Burial will follow at the Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.

Bobby was born on July 15, 1933 in Newcastle, Texas to the late Charley and Grace (James) Bailey. He was a lifetime resident of Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1951. Bobby was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Newcastle. He served his country proudly in the United Sates Army during the Korean War. He married Catherine Bowen on July 20, 1957 in Newcastle. Bobby worked at Bailey Grocery and Locker and drove for Pepsi Cola for over 20 years. He also farmed and ranched in Young County and truly loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Bailey.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Catherine Bailey of Newcastle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Tommy Dee Taylor of Newcastle and Penny and Stacey Rogers of Olney; three grandchildren, Bailey Burge, Madison Wellman and Jonathan Rogers; and two great-grandchildren, Cutter Wellman and Will Wellman.
