Betty Sheppard

Betty Sheppard, age 81, formerly of Olney, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at her home in Breckenridge, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020 in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Betty was born on November 12, 1938 in Memphis, Texas to the late William Louis Palmer and Oleta Bell (McClure) Palmer. She moved to Olney in 1992 and was a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ. Betty was the owner and operator of Mrs. Lock in Olney for many years. She moved to Springtown in 2011 and then to Breckenridge in 2018. Betty married Alton Sheppard on July 31, 1979 in Weatherford. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2011. Betty was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Palmer and Ray Palmer, and a sister, Sue Williamson.

Betty is survived by two sons, Jerry Williamson of Cottondale and Bobby Burns and wife Angie of Glen Rose; two daughters, Debbie Johnson and husband Dan of Bridgeport and LaDell Otts and husband Kenny of Breckenridge; two step-sons, Dan Sheppard and wife June of Abilene and Scott Sheppard and wife Ruth of Mineral Wells; sister, Linda Savis of Rising Star; twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
