Betty Kay Harrison O’Dell

Betty Kay Harrison O’Dell entered into the presence of our Lord on June 13, 2022 at age 88.

Betty was born to Clyde and Ruth Harrison, on February 12, 1934 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After graduating from high school and attending Scottsbluff Jr. College, she later attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she received a Bachelor of Music in Education Degree. After graduation, she taught orchestra in Idaho and later moved to California where she met her husband, Bob O’Dell. Betty was a caring and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend. She loved spending time with her family by creating delicious meals, taking them to activities, and traveling. She was a skilled violinist and loved teaching orchestra, private violin lessons from home, and was in the Wichita Falls Symphony for many years. She filled her home with love and classical music. However, her main passion was for Christ and ministry. She had a heart for helping orphans and she spent many years involved in this ministry.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Oscar Rodriguez; and son, Raymond O’Dell; her grandchildren, Deidra Wood (Kyle), Kaitlyn Moorhouse, Kirian O’Dell, Ariana O’Dell, and Tristan O’Dell; her great-grandchildren, Ross Wood, Camryn Wood, and Serena Lester.

A memorial celebration of life service is scheduled for June 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 110 W Elm St, Olney, TX 76374.
