Country Club Holds Membership Drive Amid $1M-Plus in Upgrades

The Olney Recreation Association hosted a members’ day at the Olney Country Club on Saturday to celebrate members and unveil the $1.2 million in upgrades under way.

The club raised $88,500 and gained five new members during its Members Day event, ORA President Landon Rowe said. “We are still fundraising through the end of the year,” Mr. Rowe said.

Recent upgrades include a new driving range, cart paths, a new cart barn, a sprinkler system, revamped tennis-pickleball courts, and new sand and water traps on the golf course. The ORA is holding a $500,000 fundraising drive to upgrade the clubhouse, including new locker rooms, a restaurant, a cigar lounge, indoor hitting bays, and an upgraded pro shop.

Donations made during the “Leave Your Legacy” campaign offered donors the chance to have their family name included in the new clubhouse.

Members’ Day included a BBQ lunch, merchandise giveaways, tours, putting and driving competitions, and a look at renderings of upcoming upgrades.
