Fort Belknap Sets Living History Days Oct. 23-24

Fort Belknap will host its 11th annual living-history event Oct. 23–24, opening first to school groups before welcoming the general public the following day.

Caretaker Jim Hammond announced the dates during the Young County Commissioners Court meeting Oct. 13, identifying Friday, Oct. 23, as Education Day and Saturday, Oct. 24, as the public event.

“The 23rd is Education Day. That’s for the schools to come out, and the 24th is open to the public,” Mr. Hammond said.

The two-day format gives educators a designated opportunity to bring students to the historic site while reserving a separate day for families and other visitors.
