Olney Country Club Hosts Parent-Child Tourney

The Olney Recreation Association continued to build the Olney Country Club’s reputation as one of North Texas’ premier small-town golf destinations Saturday, July 11, as a full field of 37 teams competed in the annual Parent-Child Golf Tournament.

Players from Olney and surrounding communities filled the course for a day of friendly competition, family fun, and fellowship, showcasing the growing popularity of tournaments hosted by the ORA.

The event paired parents, children, and other family members in teams, allowing golfers of all ages to make memories together while competing on one of the area’s most scenic courses. Following the tournament, the ORA served lunch and presented prizes to the top finishers in each age division.

In the 9-and-under division, Alex Ress and his nephew, Kruize Whitener, claimed the championship.

The 10-12 age division title went to Landon Rowe and his nephew, Tanner McElroy.

In the 13-and-up division, Dusty McElroy and Chris McElroy captured the championship.

Congratulations, golfers!
