Seeing Things Differently

Seeing Things Differently

As a photographer, I learned early on that what I see through my lens can look completely different from another photographer. It’s all about the perspective of the person.

This was eye opening, no pun intended, because it made me think about things differently then I had because it also applies to life in general when it comes to two people seeing the same thing and seeing things differently all because we each have grown older having different experiences, which changes the way we see things.

I can look at a field of hay and think how cool a photo would be or how peaceful the wind sounds blowing through the hay field, another person looking at the same hay field could think of it as just a lot of work if that person was a farmer/rancher or ranch hand. Knowing this helps me be more empathetic to others because I know not everyone has the same point of view in a lot of situations. Sometimes I think we need to pause a minute in some situations with others and try to think about the situation from the other person’s point of view and I bet most conflicts would resolve quicker and with less stress.

This is Will B saying, walk a mile in someone else’s shoes if you really want to understand someone.
